What is a hackathon?

In short, a hackathon is a coding party. Coders of all experience levels are encouraged to participate and collaborate with one another to tackle a problem as specified by the hosts of the hackathon. 

The solution to the issue can be anything comprising of technology, as long as all work is original to the participants and is made during the hackathon. 

Our Purpose

This hackathon is meant to introduce students at Brooklyn Tech to computer science and allow students with all experience levels to work together.

 

*No experience is required*

Divisions and Prizes

All coding skills are welcome! 

Participants can compete in either the Pro and Novice divisions. 

Grand Prize Pro Division:

           Android Compatible Tablet

Grand Prize Novice Division:

           Sony Headphones

Things to Keep in Mind

The first 50 students to complete the online registration form AND submit a media consent form to room 1E6 will reserve their spot in the event.

Individual brainstorming
Come up with an idea for your hack before you share with your friends.

Group forming
​Team up with other participants!
Teams must have 2-4 members.

Time to code!
This time is all yours to work on your hack.

Lunch
Take an optional break from your project and eat delicious food.

All projects are due!
3:00 on the dot, don't be late. Hang out and see what your friends have created.

Students may win prizes for the following categories:
